As I see it, this is not a men's rights issue, but a child protection issue.

The father was is jail for murdering the younger brother, the mother lost custody and likely had a history of pain killer use/alcohol use.

Why was her son with her if she lost custody? Why was the grandmother complicit in covering up the crime?
