So now even doctors and midwives are no longer permitted to use medical terms near women in case they get triggered.

Oxfam staff hires known prostitutes for sex party that was not on staff time and paid for from employees earnings. I've been to loads of sex parties where I have done rent boys for free. Should I lose my job now too? It's OK for females to sell sex, but not ok for men to buy it. #DoubleStandards

Are F2M trans a ploy by feminism to force even homosexual men to go with women? Scary if it's true.

"Good girl" is the only one that's actually a problem here. And it's so obvious I can't even imagine a professional saying that at all, let alone enough for it to be a systemic problem.

eh, considering a midwife is traditionally an older woman's job, in which she would be delivering mostly for women in their 20s, it may be a phrase that stuck in the profession

My doctors are among the last people I'd want having to edit themselves like this.

Just like any other profession, medicine has terminology that means things. I may not know some of the terminology, but they do, and here's the thing:

When they're talking to each other, I want them to be as comfortable, explicit, and efficient as they can be. Time counts, details count. To use an example from the article, a big baby is one thing. A healthy baby is another. Say what you mean. If my baby is big but unhealthy, I don't want you saying healthy to spare my feelings. Get everyone with specialty on the same page and get on with it.

On the other hand when they're talking to me, I still want them using the proper terminology for things. If I don't understand, I'll ask. To use an example not from the article, my penis is not a wee-wee. I'm not a toddler, thanks.

Yeah, the big baby one is funny. "The baby is too healthy to come out of her incredibly unhealthy woo woo, we need to call the chief stork to do tummy magic!"

"bloody show" - "a show with blood in it"

So the same fucking thing, but more wordy? Adjectives are bad m'kay.

Fine then, lady. Have it yourself.

I can understand “good girl” and “the girls” and such, but I highly highly highly doubt those are ever used except by women talking about their coworkers. Just like when guys call their friends boys (“Well boys, it’s off to the ar we go!” or whatever), no one is offended by this.

But I have no idea why labor or delivered is offensive.
