Pass the 'diginity for incarcerated women act'. Because dignity should be for women, not men.

That's right, now you can get 5 years in prison for "the silent treatment", at least if you're a man, right?

Students convicted in kangaroo title IX courts could have their information exposed to the public. A north Carolina Uni pulls its title IX adjudicators from the students themselves, so other 18 year olds get to decide your case.

Rule 1: be attractive.

Rule 2: don't be unattractive.

Repeat the study with some unkempt, ugly, overweight guys and see how things go.

"Study found that the men who touched women lightly on the arm were twice as likely to be reported to police as men who didn't"

I'm annoyed at this because of all the recent allegations. I haven't ever tried this because everything I've learned from feminists and society is 'keep your hands to yourself'.

Everything I've learned from feminists is, er, nothing.

[–]DevilishRogue 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't you see? Feminists want equality by enabling women to do whatever they want whilst men being arrested, charged, convicted and imprisoned for doing the exact same things. That's equality! /s

In a French study, young men stood on street corners and talked to women who walked by. The men had double the success rate in striking up a conversation when they lightly touched the woman's arms as they talked to them instead of doing nothing at all.

Anyone here familiar with French culture enough to say how French women feel about being approached on the street?

https://www.pri.org/stories/2017-10-16/france-men-who-harass-women-street-will-face-instant-fines

Schiappa, asked about the difficulty of drawing a line between street harassment and flirtation, replied: "We know very well at what point we start feeling intimidated, unsafe or harassed in the street."

E.g. if they feel harassed instantly, its on equal scale to feeling 'eventually harassed'.

What does that have to do with what I asked?

Anyone here familiar with French culture enough to say how French women feel about being approached on the street?

What does that have to do with what I asked?

Apparently they want laws and fines imposed.

Thanks for reading and using your brain.

That's the government trying to introduce a law you fucking idiot, not someone familiar with French culture commenting on how French women feel about being approached on the street which is what I asked for.

[–]mwobuddy[S] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Im not sure why you're arguing. The government is following the lead of women.

[+]GhostofB1 points 8 years ago* [recovered] (8 children) | Copy Link

Where does it say that?

[–]mwobuddy[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I know its a very complex issue, but this is not the first in a long line of articles of women in France complaining about street harassment.

[+]GhostofB1 points 8 years ago* [recovered] (5 children) | Copy Link

I asked you a very simple question and instead of admitting that it doesn't, you pull this shit. It's not an article about women in France complaining about street harassment at all.

[–]mwobuddy[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

You asked how French Women feel about being approached. They are trying to make laws for street harassment. That should tell you enough.

You'll never know, it's almost like gambling except instead of just losing a couple hundred dollars, your entire reputation could be ruined.

[–]AnonPerson64 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Don't touch people randomly, in general.

[–]mwobuddy[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I know right? talk about confused messages. A study says its good and promotes interpersonal relationship development, and then people say its awful.

[–]mikesteane 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not really what the article says.

[–]letsthrowawaylove 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Is there any actual data to back this up or are you and this arricle just speculating?
