We see people rioting , breaking windows, turning over police cars and sometimes even killing people. They seem to do it even though they themselves were not wronged or in anyway in danger.

Is it possible that the latest 'moral panic' that is happening similar to this phenomena , could a large portion (or any portion) of these allegations be false and are simply people (read: women) simply jumping on the bandwagon because they believe so many other women have been assaulted. I mean we have had #METOO and of course the public accusations

there is no doubt that at least some of the allegations are true and just like a riot where some and perhaps even a large portion of the rioters are grieved and feel justified there is also a significant portion who aren't but are rather caught up in the wave of accusations almost to the point of "Jeez, if I don't accuse someone I am going to be left behind".
