First of all, if you are more upset about being told that you are being sexist than actually thinking about the problem that has been raised, it means that you are more upset about defending your own ego than validating the experience of the woman in front of you. Sounds a lot like sexism, right?

So basically, if ever a woman accuses a man of being sexist, then 100% of the time she's right and he's in the wrong. That's the part about this that sounds sexist: this assumption that her opinion that he's being a misogynist is automatically more valid than his opinion that he's not due to nothing other than her gender

If a woman is saying you are being sexist, you definitely have to listen, because you’ve never lived life as a woman and don’t know what it is like to face sexism every single waking hour of your life.

And what percentage of women have experienced being a man? And yet they'll dogmatically conclude that men don't know what it's like to face sexism

Honestly, what man--or any person, for that matter--would want to become a feminist after reading this? I've never been a feminists, so it's hard for me to say; but this sounds like that kind of thing that would turn even moderates away

Why did I foolishly think that she would go on to explain how feminism is "only theoretical" to men? That was silly of me.

It's like some people literally think that you can't be sexist to a man. I thought that was something people said as a joke. What is this world coming to?

Is it really a progressive and equal society if you can treat a man negatively because he is a man and it not be considered sexist?

It actually makes me wonder if these women aren't really wanting the guy to say "yeah I know, I am a bit sexist, but women are all mental ha ha, let me get that door for you, do you need help with your bags?" Like the whole "I am a strong independent feminist, but I would quite like a big strong man to sweep me off my feet and buy me dinner." You really can't have it both ways.
