Attacking white men before was impossible, they owned everything, including the media. Now, of course the common white man didn't have the privilege of that wealth and power, but the the desire of the society elites to protect their image ended up privileging all white men. When blacks were protesting during the civil rights movement, it was whites reporting on it. There was no appeal to really expose the sadistic nature of a racists mentality. There was interest in hitting the public with non-stop images of others doing negative things.

Things are different now. The collective of independent diverse bloggers and twitter users etc.. have as much power as the mainstream media. The image of the white male that has been carefully crafted and exported around the world through mechanisms like Hollywood are starting to become more nuanced. The underbelly of white society, which was minimally exposed & treated as fringe element is now showcased with the help of the internet in all of its neanderthal glory; further staining the image of the white male to many. Every hate post, every racist YouTube remark, its doing immense damage. In essence, the white male, has a major PR problem.

I personally remember when it felt like every single YouTube post i saw featuring a black person had a nigger comment on it. The hostility and anger is just immense from anyone on the other side of it.

Now my post is in reference to white men because of the title image, but the same could be applied to men in general. Our behavior is exposed to the world unedited unfiltered and we don't have the power to control story anymore.
