Hey everyone,
Ever since I started visiting this subreddit because of a specific issue I had, I have started reading, thinking, and implementing much of what I've been learning into my life.
I've thought about my past, and my possible future, and I've been able to understand why many things turned out the way they did for me back then.
So far I've read a couple of books, and started following some blogs. Among the books I've read are:
- The rational Male
- The manosphere
- The manipulated man
- Models
- The book of pook
The ideas are very powerful, and I know I need to "dissect" these books as good as I can in the near future.
But, I've also found some very interesting sources of knowledge in self-improvement (a more masculine term than self-help), like for example:
/r/becomeaman everything Victor Pride has written (specifically: the body of a spartan book, and 30 days of discipline)
I'm currently working on implementing what I'm learning in my life, and it's working wonders for me, and so I wanted to share what I've been experiencing so far to see if you guys went through similar experiences and if you wish to share them.
First thing I did was to think more about myself. To put me at the center of my relationships with women, instead of idealizing them. Lately, when I deal with women, I've started treating them with respect and all, but as women instead of as men or as angels.
I also started "erasing" certain expectations from my head and coming to terms with reality. Kind of establishing truths for myself as to what can and what can't be expected, and to feel comfortable with that truth.
I started, thanks to Esther Vilar most of all, respecting other men more. Admiring and respect their contribution to everyday life. I look at those men working on the street at 5am in the cold with respect, and I've started to develop a kinship towards men as men. A kind of brotherhood. A feeling of "we understand each other, because we are men".
I also started implementing some things from Victor Pride's book: waking up at 5am, or 6am the latest. Taking a cold shower and gritting my teeth. I joined a gym and started working out. Its been 2 weeks now. I wake up at 5-6, take a cold shower, drink a protein shake instead of eating breakfast, go to the gym for 45 mins, and then head to work. At 8:30am, I feel like I've accomplished a lot, whereas others are starting their day.
In the evenings, regardless of how tired I am, I do pushups, situps, and squats. At first I could only pull 10, now i'm up to 15. I tell myself that everyday I can do the minimum (which is the maximum reached so far), preferably more, but NEVER less. My goal is to reach 100 daily pushups and situps.
I maintain eye contact with everyone I talk to during my day. I walk proud with my head up, shoulders back and a straight back. I respect everyone I interact with, and I demand the same respect. I feel confident, and I feel like I am taking control of my life.
I talk to women, but I don't do pick-ups yet. At the moment I am concentrating on me and improving myself. Everything else will just follow suit. The hotter the girl looks, the better. I talk to them, normally. I treat them like women, with respect, but as women.
I've also started being more "egoistic" about my time and energy. I ask myself "What am I getting out of this?" before doing something. If I don't feel I'm getting something out of it, and I don't "want" to do it, I don't. If I want to do it, I do it.
Well, I can't think of much more at the moment, but I am sure this is just the beginning of a new era, and as many said before me, "I wish I had discovered the red pill earlier". It would have helped me make much, much better choices in life. Still, I am glad to have found it, and I am thankful for all of your contributions. Perhaps, someday, I can give something back to the community.
This is, the way I see it, a really big and important awakening of men and their place in society.
We will learn to be men, and for those of us who end up having children, we will be able to raise men and women, instead of boys and girls.
[summary: guy finds the red pill, is obsessed with the topic, reads a lot and puts a lot into practice, all the time wondering how other people's processes are and/or have been]
