In my social circle a lot of girls have these male friends who was once their exs. Most of them are oribiters and others are fuckin on the side while the girl is in a ltr.

Both situations I'm not a fan of. My ex tried to pull that friend shit on me too, I told her straight up I don't have female friends. She's also unfortunately in my social circle. We say "hi" and "bye" and that's the extent of the relationship.

You can do what you want, but guys and girls are never friends. Women use male friends for either validation, get them do be their slaves or backup when all else fails.

You can't possibly say "NO" to her request without lowering your value, you'll come out as VERY butt hurt if you deny her the way she phrased it.
Now, she either wants validation or wants to get you back.
There's nothing to worry about in the second. You'll get other chicks, you'll get abundance, and you know yourself well enough to consider properly whether you can or can not bang the ex. It's a non issue really. If this is the case, don't put HER in an orbiting position, that's shit women do because THEY need it. When men do they're most likely stalling themselves.
Now, if it's just for the validation, it's totally your call. I assume you know she'll flirt and let tension build to get validated, awalt, just don't fall for that (it's not hard to avoid it if you're banging another girl) and you'll be cool. She'll be validated, she'll validate you a bit, and soon enough she'll be gone and forget about you. Although she enjoys and needs much more validation than you, it's not like it's worthless and it's not like you're being short changed, you're not losing anything (but time and maybe a little emotional investment). It's your call, and it's not hard to balance that. Remember briffault's law, she'll show you no gratitude after she moves on, don't think at it as a investment for the future.
