The cases with female teachers are frequently consensual (albeit currently illegal) sexual relationships.

Philippoussis had been booked on suspicion of sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child 10 years old or younger, lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14 and oral copulation of a person under 18.

This case seems to be unconsensual.

It is getting so that there are few examples of men being prosecuted for this stuff to draw comparisons from.

It's possible his bail is high because he is from originally from Australia and has friends/family there, and probably flies there often, making it easier for him to skip bail than most people.

(Don't get me wrong: it's a proven fact that the criminal justice system is harsher on men. It's just that the extra circumstances in this case make comparisons to other cases a bit murky)
