I can't see how he might be shamed though. He is objectively speaking attractive. I do think his is what I discussed and not what you are discussing. I can sympathize with severely overweight people not wishing to be made fun or of humiliated at every circumstance (although I don't necessarily believe this shame is non-beneficial).

The main issue I have with any such notion is the fact that it is literal 101 SJW politics. People should and must have freedom of expression. This will inevitably lead to uncomfortable things like bullying, mobbing and the likes thereof but the trade-off is so much worse.

People have a right to like what they like and the dark side is biology has programmed people far more than leftists are willing to admit.

Nothing terrifies me more than a world where the 'MRAs' and the 'feminists' chirp in unison. Collectivism is a folly.

I think it is far minutia.

Now I am not particularly familiar with African cultures but I assume they are somewhat similar and you would see something along the lines I have described. If you don't it might be that in Africa people have largely had 'plenty' (at least in terms of environment this is accurate) and as such didn't necessarily evolve obesity as a status signal (although anecdotal recollections make me think the opposite). Now obviously don't take this as truth but for some reason large overweight men get the most sex. Now we can theorize all we want as to why this happens (my take is biology and that we haven't fully evolved past 'opulence').

When I first came across it I was also intrigued that 'less attractive' men would get more sexual partners. If you go back into European history you will also see 'fat' was 'sexy'. Now I'm not endorsing morbid obesity but I think ignoring this because the current societal trend is skinny = personal trainer = wealthy/well off is a little fallacious.

I think it is interesting in many ways because it throws our whole societal barometer off including the MGTOWs, the radical MRAs and the radical Feminists.

It's like we live in but that tiny space of time where fat is not hot. I think this problem will solve itself. Again not morbid obesity but women who don't need to have eating disorders to feel good and men who don't need to do roids to shred to feel good.

If you object to the notion of objectification entirely I think that would be an interesting conversation and one I think you would lean in to concede.

I don't endorse this:

'You need to lose a bit of weight.' This other time they were slapping me. I felt like a piece of meat.'

For either sex but there are of course careers where physical form is the career and as such what is perceived as personal injury is nothing more than sub-par work.

I also think my main issue is with the notion that we should not be allowed to objectify people. We are still animals. There are very basal urges that drive us and desires that have been shown to hold for blind men as well and for women the study that showed women orgasmed 3x as much with millionaires. I think deny and shaming us for our basic and very human urges is wrong.

We all to some degree objectify people and it is healthy. If we purely say the 'person' we would pick sub-par mates. I know this sounds cruel but we're literally descended from on female around 200k years ago and one male between 100-300k years ago. There is obviously a very real selective pressure.

This doesn't mean treat people like meat or treat them as no more than their body or sperm or egg. It simply means if you feel good looking at a sexy body that is alright and healthy. If you tease a guy or a girl a bit about too much weight that's fine too. Even if you are cruel and tell them bluntly I would desire you far more if you were this way that is fine.

I really hate how the 'victim mentality' is infiltrating the MRA sphere. I am aware of how to an extent it is a necessary push back since women and feminist need to see men experience similar emotions I don't want to see 'a male fat acceptance movement' spawn instead of just be healthy and if you aren't and you find someone into that, that's cool.
