So essentially, yes. A lot of hardcore feminists (ironically) have very masculine qualities and are envious/resentful toward the opposite sex.

Of course that doesn't explain all the other women who embrace feminism. There are a variety of reasons for said embrace: ugly women who hate men because they are not pursued sexually, women who grew up with abusive fathers and want to take out their rage against men as a whole, women who are selfish and want more privileges, and (perhaps the majority?) well meaning but duped men and women who have been fed a bullshit narrative about history and female oppression.

Psychologist here, Freud's theory also suggested boys have castration anxiety, where they fear their father with chop of their penis as the male child is assumed to be sexually obsessed with their mother.

Girls are said to experience penis envy where they realise they are not boys, and at this point they identify with the mother.

But again, these theories were all based on clinical observations, no way to empirically test/validate
