'Miss Smith was fully aware of the defendant's conduct and she described their relationship as being out of control, that the defendant was 'generally crazy and out of control' in drink.

'She had witnessed a number of episodes of serious violence including causing him stab injuries with a knife, kicking him, hitting him or slapping him.

'The three allegations of violence meted out by Miss Sharp occurred in the period between October 2016 and January this year.

Just another example of the way that society doesn't take female violence against men seriously, at least until a man is seriously injured and at risk of dying, or actually dead.

If the next door neighbour had instead seen a man stabbing his wife on previous occasions, is there any chance at all that he wouldn't have already gone to jail? No, there's no chance of that. Men go to jail for far less serious offences than stabbing their wives.

This situation would never have been allowed to escalate if it was male-on-female violence. But because it was female-on-male violence, no one cared, they just let it continue and the guy nearly died as a result.

I suppose the only good thing is that he wasn't arrested when her violent attacks were reported. That's the most common outcome when police are called to a case of female domestic violence: the male victim is arrested instead.

Last night I watched the documentary "The Red Pill" and was thinking about an ex-GF. She used to punch me, slap me, bite me and I had frequent clumsy "accidents", where she accidentally poked me in the eye (this happened a few times), cut me with a sharp kitchen knife, crushed my genitals, shoved/barged into me so that I whacked my head against things, burnt me with hot objects/liquids ("Oh sorry honey! I didn't know it was that hot." laughing and giggling as I rushed to put my hand or arm under a cold tap).

At the time I put it down to rough and tumble play, perhaps she'd done this growing up with her brother, or just clumsy accidents. A GP saw me with my shirt off and asked me about my injuries (bite marks, bruises and scars), at the time I just laughed it off.

I thought to myself that I shouldn't be bothered by this stuff, I needed to "man-up". Thinking to myself, I'm an only child, so I don't understand "rough and tumble".

But I never laid a finger on her, she never had a single injury, bruise or anything caused by me. And I'd been in a 17 year relationship previously and these things had never happened during that relationship.

We'd be in the car going somewhere, we'd have a disagreement and she would lash out because she was angry, punch my leg or stomach or shoulder whilst I was driving.

I think back on it now and I realise that perhaps this was a form of domestic violence against me. Physical abuse to go along with the all the psychological abuse she did too (lying about everything, cheating on me several times, controlling behaviour, making me doubt my own sanity).

Why did I allow this to happen, time and time again during our on/off two year relationship? Because I was (am) lonely, with poor self esteem, she was beautiful and I was utterly besotted with her.

She even deliberately damaged my property, mobile, furniture, home furnishings, bathroom fittings, car etc.

I was so stupid.

I wish I'd seen this place then. I wished someone would have just helped me at the time. But of course no one believed me, they assumed it was all coincidence and exaggeration. When I told them about her behaviour, none of my friends had the courage to tell me what I already knew in my heart, that she hated me and she was hurting me and that I needed to get away from her.

I have to wonder if there was a full psych evaluation prior to sentencing? My Guessing is no because if there had been she should have gotten a longer sentence.

Sharp will serve at least two thirds of the 11-year jail term, after admitting three offences of maliciously wounding Mr Brown with intent to cause him grievous bodily between November and January.

Why am I not surprised? Years of horrid domestic abuse and then a vicious attempted murder, and she'll get a handful of years at most. Must be nice having a vagina.
