4 or 5 years ago, R&B singer Omarion got circumcised for his girlfriend. 2 years ago, they broke up. Relationships are temporary but genital mutilation lasts forever.

Even the fact that the word "uncircumcised" exists is just a monument to retardation to me. Hey look at that uncutdown tree, those beautiful unmastectomized breasts, that unburntdown house. The fact that we need to reverse a word for a procedure that change something natural to refer to the natural state of that something is just...so fucking stupid. I can't wait till this shit is something we read about in those horrible histories columns and cringe thinking "man, humans were weird back then".

Just keep saying 'intact' or 'fully functional'. It triggers some people to no end.

[–]Covalency22 8 points9 points10 points 9 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link

It triggers me because I wish I still had my shit fully intact. It's still functional, but I know if I still had foreskin.. Holy bejesus I would love the shit out of my dick. It's so nice looking without it, with foreskin? Fuck, it'd be like a diamond. (At least for me).

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 9 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

Feel sorry for ya bro... I wish you had a say in the matter.

[–]Covalency22 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

Me too, man. Me too. If I ever have a little dude, I'll give him the gift I never had.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I also feel your pain, if there was one thing I could change about my body it would be my circumcision status. I don't get how people think that "circumcised looks better". How? It looks scarred, mutilated, and like it's missing something.

If I ever have a son, there is no fucking way he's being circumcised unless he has valid medical condition that requires it or he decides to get it done when he's older.

If I ever have a little dude, I'll give him the gift I never had.

You mean, you'll let him keep the gift that you, and every other boy has/had, but was stolen from you.

[–]Covalency22 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

I meant it in a way that it's a gift that was taken away from me without any say.

It's a natural thing, yes. But for someone who never had it, allowing someone else to have it, to me, is a gift.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

Whichever way you put it, you'll be making the right decision.

[–]Covalency22 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Definitely. I don't know how any parent could be proud of harming their child through mutilation.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

I was cut at several months old. I asked my father if he thought he'd achieved something when he took me home that day, if he felt I'd been improved. He refused to answer.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It really does. I've seen people get really pissed off at the term 'intact' because of the implications it holds for them.

This guy is triggered by intactivism: http://www.slate.com/articles/health_and_science/medical_examiner/2013/09/intactivists_online_a_fringe_group_turned_the_internet_against_circumcision.html

This guy is triggered by the term "intact": http://www.jweekly.com/2013/01/04/circumcision-is-not-only-jewish-its-good-for-you/

This guy is triggered by the notion that one day, men who were mutilated might be able to fix their penises: https://archive.is/OGhM4 His article is particularly amusing because he behaves as though the existence of such a procedure means that everyone who was cut will be forced to undergo it, ironically missing the point that most men who will get restored will be doing it because they were cut against their will in the first place. To hear this man talk, you'd think that foreskin regeneration will happen at the expense of all other advances in medicine.

If you’re detecting a thread of sarcasm in my write-up, it’s because of the bizarre lack of perspective.

That projection gave me a chuckle.

"In defense of the five-fingered hand"

It sounds ridiculous, doesn't it?

Haha! Another great example. Yes, it truly is.

In the UK it's pretty rare for men to have a circumcision.

[–]HotDealsInTexas 7 points8 points9 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

True: medically unnecessary, nonreligious circumcision is primarily a US phenomenon.

However, medically unnecessary circumcision remains legal in the UK, as well as in every other European country to my knowledge.

It's legal in 100% of the world, some current laws on child protection COULD be interpreted so that we say it's illegal, but guess what looks like no one up there gives a shit.

Although I personally don't have a foreskin (or a penis)

This is a female author which means she was born with a prepuce. The prepuce is called the clitoral hood in females and foreskin in males.

foreskin is said to hold 30% of the penis's erogenous nerve endings

30% sounds like a low number considering the foreskin makes up more than 30% of the penis skin and contains high density nerve ending tissue. The prepuce contains nerve ending types that don't exist in other parts of the genitals so near 100% of some pleasure nerve ending types are gone.

Jews circumcised because they believed it was God's law for them to do so

This does not explain why this God's law came into existence. Apparently Egyptian priests would get circumcised as a passage into priest hood. That ritual may have gotten twisted into Jewish tradition. Another possibility is that it was a type of branding done by one group of people to another group of people. The true origins are long lost to history.

I have seen the movie "Bad Moms" that inspired this article. It had some humorous moments but overall was a movie about girls can do anything and men suck. The author of the article has good direction but is lacking information like so many people are around this topic.

The idea that "God", the supposed creator of the universe, created human bodies one way, then one day said "You know what? I think you guys should cut up your sons' dicks" is fucking idiotic. That sounds like human foolishness to me, or at the very least, the command of a trickster god like Loki, who'd be laughing at how dumb human beings are.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

God: I created humans perfect in my image...except for your dick skin, cut that gross shit off.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Anyone who truly believes in that rubbish is an imbecile. In fact, I don't even think they do, they're trapped in a cycle that they're too weak to try to break, and the sad thing is, if they tried, it would prove to be easy. All they have to do is...nothing.

God: Oh, and it's actually stuck into your kids dickheads like a fingernail, good luck peeling that sucker off. And about sucking, you have to suck on it when you're done.

Pedophilic Priest God: And about sucking, you have to suck on it when you're done.

It's astonishing that an intact penis is something that would need a moral or aesthetic defence. It shows how our society is at once both so irrational and so unnatural.

An intact penis is a thing of beauty and wonder. As a sexual species, this shouldn't be surprising.
