Situation is kind of typical. Girl friendzones me (I did flirt with her and ask her out, but nah), but she was fun to talk to so we stayed friends.

Annoying how she kept saying she wants a guy like me (personality-wise), so I thought "ok its looks", then she started dating a guy that was my look-a-like, could pass for my brother.

Anyways, she is single now. Just broke up because of "the guy's mental issues she couldn't deal with". She wanted to talk about her break-up, but I said to myself "Not this time" and threw a flirty joke at her, then said I don't have time to talk.

Is that how you get out of a friendzone? Now I don't have much problem getting dates, and I can live without this girl, but not gonna lie she is a step or two above my usual dates, good material for something serious I'd say.

Only she treats me like her gay friend. Any chance I can fix that? I know the theory - become less available to her, make sure she knows there are other girls around me. But how do I do that in practice?

I feel like throwing a slight rant here, because seriously, if she wants a guy with my personality AND my looks, why not just date me? I guess because I was a beta-type guy when we first met 8 months ago... well I'm a fair bit wiser nowadays. Oh yeah, I should mention we're not going to see each other until September, when the new uni year starts. I might be dating someone else by that time, I'm not a retard who waits months for a girl like I used to be, but if I'm single by that time, I'd like to date her specifically (my type definitely).

EDIT

Thanks dudes, I get the message. No way I'm gonna be a blue pill clown a day longer.
