Many women bring other women up when they are insecure, but could care less if a man is insecure. Sometimes they drag the man down. They look at male and female as two different species. I wish that both would just bring eachother up and stop the cruel behavior

Men don't talk about their problems to their friends because men have learned through experience that opening up to friends like that generally just ends up getting them burnt. It's generally met with either negative responses, apathetic responses or just silently locked away into memory only to be used against you later on.

Immediate and vocal responses to these types of message typically fall into this spectrum of "meh, sucks to be you", to "TMI, didn't need to hear that", to "man up!", to "men don't have problems, you privileged/entitled shitlord". Behind that, the silent/unspoken reactions typically fall into the spectrum of "I respect this person less now because he has problems", to "he's a downer, I don't want him around anymore", to "ew, he has issues, i should get as far away from him because that's a 'red flag' ", to "I will always be able to hold this over him now, and everything he says now has less value because he clearly doesn't have his shit together". And that's assuming you don't even go into any of the real deep shit, that some people would have no problem repeating to others for a laugh or for social gain.

Men don't talk about these things because they simply do not have the social, cultural or romantic luxuries, privileges and protections that women have. When men express pain or despair, people do not want to hear about it. When men have problems, people expect them to solve it themselves. When men are mistreated, abused or marginalized, they expect them to take it without complaint. When men demonstrate weakness, meekness or doubt, women do not want to fuck them. When men retreat inwards, women do not want to make the effort to seek them out.

And, really, that's what kind of infuriates me about adds like this. There are a fuck-tonne of social problems out there that plague men, and no one really wants to deal with them. Instead they just get bogged down on things like "well, men kill themselves more because they just don't talk about their problems, so it's really their own fault", despite the fact that not only do men have very good reasons to keep these things to themselves but also that this approach literally does nothing but detract from the actual issues which lead men to suicide.

Good apart from peddling the men don't talk meme.......AGAIN!

The issues is Institutional Deafness and the abusive gendered view that men are bad at communicating their needs and emotional state.

Childline score 4 out of ten - needs to do far better and drop the NSPCC feminist shite!

I won't be promoting this campaign.
