False allegations are terrifying because there's almost no way to prove it false. Even children aren't immune from making false allegations. Years ago, my wife started babysitting for a woman with 3 kids. The oldest girl (7y.o.) told her mom one night that my wife had molested her and her brothers. Luckily, the mom thought that was way out of character for my wife and came to us with it. Turns out the kids really missed their mom, who was constantly going out and partying, leaving the kids with sitters. She thought that would get her mom to stop going out all the time. I still wonder how it would have turned out if she had accused me instead of my wife...

From the video in the link, it looks like the cops were responsible for talking a four year old girl into blaming her father. This is a miscarriage of justice and a man lost twenty years of his life. someone should go to prison.
