I've never understood the "I'm accustomed to this lifestyle!" argument for a massive divorce payout.

It's like quitting your job and telling your boss that you're "accustomed" to a paycheck and expect to still receive one.

Family court system is gynocentric man-hating bullshit and is in and of itself a great reason for would-be breadwinners not to engage in long-term romance (not just marriage, even de facto marriage bullshit). Sad!

While I generally agree, doesn't this grant a bit too much power to the richer party? I'm thinking of cases where the woman gives up her career to have kids.
