Bad law. It'll be destroyed in court.

I posted this elsewhere.

"I'm an MRA, but I oppose this 100%, and other MRA do too.

I support abortion rights for everyone (in men's case fincial abortion or paper abortion).

While feminists worried about wolf whistling, mansplaining, manspreading, as the great crimes against women, their right to choose was being stripped from them by traditionalists.

Thankfully MRAs (most of whom as far as I can tell are also WRAs when a real issue arises) is here to fight back against Traditionalists, attacks on human rights.

I'll be creating a petitition in support of gender neutral Abortion rights in the coming days."

None of the typical pro-choice or pro-life philosophical arguments can be made about this, this is simply a half assed attempted to prevent abortion. Dragging down the rights of women to match those of men isn't progress.

I agree. However it's hypocritical for women do demand that men support female reproductive rights when (to my knowledge) the number of feminists who support male reproductive rights can be counted on one hand.

Only one or two feminists, like the late Karen DeCrow, have been consistent on this issue. She argued that if men should not be allowed to control women's bodies then nor should women be allowed to control men's bodies by demanding 18 years of child support.

Both the tradcon and the MRM positions are ethically consistent. Tradcons want to criminalize abortion but demand men pay child support under threat of imprisonment. The (typical) MRM position is also consistent: women can have abortions but women should not be able to control a man's labor. The feminist position (excepting a few outliers like DeCrow) is yet another example of female supremacism under the guise of "equality."

I agree, I support both forms of abortion, and think this is a disgusting law, I will oppose it.

[–]LucifersHammerr 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And here I am opposing both...

[–]omegaphallic 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Opposing abortion or opposing the new law?

I think abortion is awesome and abhor depriving innocent women of choice.

The majority of women are guilty though, of turning a blind eye to male enslavement.

When the hypocrites get around to knighting for us I will return to knighting for them.

If they do not want to procreate then they should do all in their power to avoid sex like a man must.

Someone has to show leadership and while still planning out the wording, in this instant I guess it will be me.

Sometimes you need to take a step back before taking two forward. I believe it is progress to remove the unique privilege women enjoy.

It should be held hostage until they unite with us to advocate for all enjoying choice together.

It's about time men got some semblance of reproductive rights.

[–]CurtisAxelmania 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Unfortunately one-sided in that it is only the right to procreate with a spouse but not the right to avoid procreating with anyone who gets your sperm.

[–]rg57 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That sounds awful. Rather, men should be allowed the opportunity to avoid parenting, financially and otherwise, a child they don't want (until birth, or until they first learn of it after birth).

And men shouldn't have to remain married to a woman intent on having a child.

Good. Normally I would be against this type of thing but I believe depriving women of choice will instigate empathy for the choices men have been deprived of.

I will gladly try to get their freedom back if they will back a "freedom for all" instead of "freedom for us" approach.

It does no such thing. The purpose of this law is clearly to ban abortions using "dismemberment method", which I assume is a necessary method once solid organs and bones have begun to form, and not a law that would allow men to dictate to women whether they can have an abortion. There's language in the law to specifically indemnify any woman who participates in a 'dismemberment abortion' and target the doctor.

The law does makes it possible for husbands to sue the doctors who perform such procedures and get some moderate recompense.

Stupid law is stupid. HuffPo is still cancer.

Its not long. Give it a read.
