Don't hold the door for strangers if you want something in return for it. This is textbook niceguy mindset.

Either do it because you like helping other people or don't give a fuck what comes after you.

You are not entitled to people's appreciation of what you "do for them".

I would probably say nothing and forget about 5 seconds later. If you really want, call her out in light hearted manner. Put her on the spot and embarrass her, without making yourself look emotionally invested in her actions. The absolute worse thing you could do is sperg out and yell at her.

In her eyes, it's like if I wipe my butt after taking a dump. I show off the toilet paper to my wife and rather than saying, "Thank you for making sure your butt was clean," she's disgusted with me that I'd wave that around. If you try to say anything, you're waving your internal/emotional pile of crap for that girl to see. If it helps, I'm 99.999% sure my wife would not want to have sex with me after that; I'm guessing the girl at the door wouldn't want to have sex with you after that either.

To be clearer: people don't say "thank you" for what they believe should be the standard. They thank you for going above and beyond. Our feminist culture has made it the standard that men must serve women in certain culturally mandated ways, including holding the door open. If you want her appreciation, you have to hand her a mint with your subservience. While you're at it, you can go ahead and bow down a few times and kiss her feet too. I'm pretty sure she'd thank you somewhere in there.

Seriously, though: if you're going to hold the door open for people, do it because that's the kind of guy you want to be, not because you crave appreciation. OI OI OI OI. If you haven't yet, read NMMNG - he talks about this mentality all the time, and you're on the wrong end of a few of his lessons. For example:

You've made a covert contract: "I do this for you, you're supposed to thank me."
You "give to get"
You're looking to women for validation of your self-image as a "nice guy" who holds the door for them (notice how quickly you dismiss any appreciation for men saying 'thank you,' as if it's unimportant compared to the 'thank you' of women)
You're caretaking (just on a mass level rather than an individual one)

Those are concepts off the top of my head that are addressed in NMMNG that you've violated. Go read that book and focus on how to become OI/DNGAF. Do things because you want to do it, not because you need something in return.

I've had this happen before, and it's honestly one of my biggest fucking pet peeves. I've done the loud and condescending "you're welcome" before, but the best one that actually got a good reaction was I was with my buddy, and after they walked right by as if I'm the fucking doorman, I just said to my friend while walking behind them "don't you hate it when some ugly cunt doesn't even acknowledge basic acts of courtesy?". Yeah, be careful with that one.

you just do it and expect nothing. as alpha you open door for everyone and step thro last. Make nothing out of it doing so i have realised these few second moments when you hold door you can flirt and mock/amog people. to guys you say "ladies first" and to ladies you just smirk in the eye. this zest is the eviliest tool for me :D

Just ignore it, there's nothing to be gained.

Shouting "you're welcome" after her, will just make her ignore or retaliate and either way YOU look bad, because men bear the entirely or the responsibility when male-female interactions don't work.

Get out of the habit of doing stuff for women, they do NOT appreciate it.
