Why do people think escalating a situation or defying officer orders is going to make things end up in their favor? Is it because of retail establishments bending over backwards for them every time they raise flap their fat folds at an octave one higher than their usual screech?

Do you think the officer is doing something illegal? Express that. Calmly. Clearly. If you still think he is doing something illegal then if you can, record it. Then, and here is the key bit people, take it up with a lawyer. Better yet would be to actually know what you're rights are. And I mean know your rights. Don't just read what the statute says and what that interpretation means to you. Actually know what it means and how it's applied, generally that would mean talking to a lawyer.

And above all, comply with reasonable requests. Cop tells you to stop, you stop. The time to prove a cop wrong, if he is wrong, isn't in the heat of the moment but in court.

When the officer mentions that the body cams were on, the mom instantly knew her story was fucked. She even said "I'm gonna sue him ANYWAY"
