There were some replies that weren't even pro MRA but pointed out the gaps in logic, and they got heavily downvoted without response. There was also some very heavily upcoted comments about how SRS is correct, and all MRA's are trump supporters who should be tagged so you know they're hateful and evil.

CTR is close to turning /r/Politics into SRS.

I got called an "angry virgin" after someone who disagreed with me on that subreddit went though my history and saw that I had posted to this sub(I don't even post here that much lol). Absolutely intolerant and ridiculous.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

All the default subs are best avoided by default, they are libtard SJW echo chambers.

[–]FeierInMeinHose 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

They weren't as bad before this election, but CTR has really forced out anyone with a different opinion over the months. They're not a large portion of the people there, but the votes are enough to get people to instantly dislike or like something, because they're too stupid to look at a comment without taking its score into account.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They were always pretty bad, hence why /r/European and /r/rapecounseling were created, although the latter has become just as bad as the sub it was created to replace.

[–]FeierInMeinHose 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Those are a little different, seeing as they're smaller subs, /r/politics was always left leaning but it wasn't always infected with this radical regressive left viewpoint. /r/europe seems large, with 1 million subs, but the interaction rate is extremely low, with things getting more than 1000 points only once in a blue moon and posts regularly getting fewer than 100 comments.

They're also not default, so people not subscribed are less likely to join in a discussion and that breeds homogeneity. A default sub having such an insanely homogeneous comment section and submission type is indication of some outside factor influencing it.

Reddit itself is filled with feminist losers, it's only during this election that we really got to see it. Frankly, there are many better sites better than this shithole.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Which is funny because according to femtards Reddit is an MRA hellhole full of neckbeard basement dwelling virgins.

Why not both?

heavily downvoted without response

This is what annoys me more than anything. they know if a third party reads a conversation it will make them look bad, so they just downvote it into oblivion.

A while back someone linked a post by an asian girl bitching about a white guy that turned her down. Her conclusion was that all white guys hate all asian girls. An entitled girl isn't going to admit anything is wrong with herself so, in her mind, when something like that happens, it must happen to all women.

Now assuming you are talking about a nicer club, not the skank bar down the street. A lot of night clubs let women in, because they know men will show up and buy them drinks. If you are a nice club, and want to pack the place with thirsty men, you want to have hotter girls in the place. Are you going to tell the bouncer to have the hot blonde standing out on the street, while he lets in an obese woman with too much makeup in that case?

The conjunction is that a less attractive girl has trouble getting into the club, therefore she assumes that all women are discriminated against.

This clip, while fiction, actually demonstrates this pretty well: You're old, and she's pregnant

I hadn't seen that. Excellent! Made me laugh.

I've seen women who speak up or assert themselves in the office being called bitchy; a man doing the same would be called "alpha".

About how many women have you heard that they may have a "Napoleon Complex"? That they are being assertive because they are overcompensating for something?

People who don't have the respect of those around get mocked when they try to assert their dominance, men or women.

This is quite true. But it would be done by the women in the office.

Any successful club or bar will cater to women for two reasons.

  1. It attracts women, which means more customers. If they feel safe there, they will go there.
  2. It brings men into the bar, which means more customers. The men will go where the women are at. If they act like douches, they get ejected.

Jon Taffer, who does the show "Bar Rescue" and is a consultant, talks about this all the time on his show.

[–]TheSummerain 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We used to do it because it was safer.

More women in the bar meant less fights. So it was safer for the staff and less property damage to the bar.

The survey reported-on at Vox, if one can call it that, is basically just a reflection of the survey creators' own biases.

For instance:

Many women are actually seeking special favors, such as hiring policies that favor women over men, under the guise of asking for equality.

I have yet to see an explanation of how believing in this is sexist, as it does not seem like a particularly outrageous statement to say (indeed, it seems like a very clinical description of what feminists are mainly about when it comes to questions of hiring). Meanwhile the idea that men are an undifferentiated oppressor class seems to arouse little to no ire among the Smart People whatsoever.

[–]iainmf 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The survey reported-on at Vox, if one can call it that

Actually, this is straight from the Ambivalent Sexism Inventory. Which assumes the domination/submission relationship between men and women.

And FYI the ASI is one of the first places we here about 'benevolent sexism', which is used to claim that where females are treated better, it's actually bad for them.

[–]Badgerz92 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Especially when we're talking about this election, where Hillary supporters are demanding she be given preferential treatment and Hillary's platform calls for favoring women over men.

[–]Badgerz92 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That thread had so much propaganda in it. Somebody claimed that reddit was the birthplace of the men's rights movement. I pointed out that the MRM was started by feminists in the 70s and got downvoted. Another comment claimed that we need feminism, not MRAs, to fix issues like child custody or women getting shorter sentences. I pointed out that child custody was the first issue feminists opposed us on, and that Hillary Clinton wants women to get shorter sentences than men. Downvoted. The study in the article claims to measure hostility toward women, but actually measured opposition to feminism. Downvoted for pointing this out. There were also several comments there claiming that MRAs are all Trump supporters. LOL, I hate Trump as much as Hillary and have been upvoted for criticizing him on this sub many times, and have seen many other MRAs criticize him as well.

/r/politics has gone really downhill, it wasn't full of such blind anti-male feminist propaganda before. One more week until the election, then maybe that sub can go back to being more reasonable

[–]Mythandros 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nothing but feminist garbage here. Not even worth the attention.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I completely understand not trusting women being alone with men at work.

My boss was accused of sexual harassment because he was reprimanding an employee and she didn't like that. He fired her dumb ass. He wasn't fired luckily

He did say she was pretty ugly and he'd never ask her out on a date even if she wasn't staff. Of course he wouldn't ask any staff out.

I felt kinda bad for him because he was such a great guy and boss. Well also because of this bitch behavior he had had to deal with.

At my workplace no one ever talked to staff alone. Always a second manager in the room.

[–]v573v 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Let's stack on top of each other in a privilege totem pole and treat each and every person on the planet according to the bias other people have for their demographic while taking nothing else about them into consideration.

I preferred when this behavior was called racial or sexual prejudice and the practice was frowned upon.

Edit: but what do I know? Apparently I'm a white supremacist.
