Hey guys.

Not sure of where to post this, so hopefully here is okay.

For background, I live on my own and am in my mid twenties. I'm trying to figure out what made me so ashamed of my body.

Growing up, I remember always wearing a shirt and shorts to sleep. I would never go without a shirt, not even when I was at home or going for a swim.

After a shower, I would cover my goods and my chest.

I was literally afraid to go without a shirt and became obsessed with guys who could do it with confidence.

My dad used to make fun of how thin my arms were. I wonder if he's the one who gave me body image issues.

Even when I would masturbate, I wouldn't explore my body and sometimes, I wouldn't look at my dick at all.

This is a completely honest question, trying to find the roots of my body shame.

What's your personal experience with this?

Edit: no one has addressed my question. I work out. I'm toned. I'm not ugly from an objective perspective. I want to know what causes a boy to be so damn ashamed of his body at such a your age - before age 5.
