Since I don't know of a better place to ask this: Why is saying a woman in the kitchen considered sexist but a man going to work is not? I'll elaborate in this post.

That is my main problem with feminism: everything women do is acceptable. Stay at home mom? Crucial feminist role. Working woman? Feminist. Taking alimony? Feminist. Whatever they do is feminist.

Because feminism decided that all sexism harms women and women alone. It ignored the fact that while women were forced in doors, men were forced to work and sacrifice themselves.

Even today we see the result of this, women can either be traditional housewifes and not work OR thanks to feminism work and pursue their dreams. Men on the other hand must work to death otherwise they are worth less then dirt.

Some years ago I was teaching English as a foreign language. I hold that the most effective way of teaching language is to use the target language as a means of teaching other things and that the standard academic approach is inefficient. The main factor is the amount of comprehensible language the student is exposed to.

Consequently, I would carry around a large backpack full of items that would give context to the things I would talk about, so that I could teach new things to them in English. One time, for a group, supposedly mixed, but actually consisting of 8 girls, I drew a schematic diagram of a 4-stroke engine. I was immediately interrupted with the question "We are girls, do you think we are interested in this?"

So I dropped the subject and moved on to something else from my bag of tricks.

However, next time I had this class, I started by taking a shirt out of my back and saying "last time, you said you were not interested in men's work, so today we are going to look at women's work." they went crazy before I could continue.

When it calmed down, I asked why they were happy to say that motor maintenance was men's work, but refused to accept there could be such a thing as women's work.

For nearly an hour, their hamsters ran wild and the best they could come up with was: "what we actually said was: 'we are girls AND we are not interested in this, the two propositions were not related'."

Nice try ladies, but underneath all the arguing, I am sure you knew I was right.

Women have been 'liberated' from traditional gender roles.

Men have not. they only had extra duties tacked onto the previous ones.

Feminists intend to keep it that way (or worse if possible).

I am a woman and I don't think it sexist. The kitchen is an awesome place where food and beverages are.

I would say that the assumption of being in the kitchen isn't appropriate, but the suggestion that a stay-at-home partner should do housework/cooking is entirely reasonable.

Marriage and housework is a job. Women think that they can be homemakers and not be on a job -- or in other words not stand scrutiny for their performance. They'd rather spend their entire life not working.
