I have wondered this for a while. I really don't understand it.

I first really thought about this after an Everybody Loves Raymond episode... an old couple were arguing. The man said that he used to work all the time just to provide for his family, the woman said that she spent her time cooking and whatnot. He said that doing that was her job. They then had a 'studio audience' gasp.

Considering blue collar working men from a long time ago (and still now) can have very dangerous working conditions and work very long hours... why is it sexist to say a woman's job was in the kitchen? It's not like the men did nothing... they were out working and the women stayed at home... sounds better to be a woman, to be completely honest.
