No, there is nothing that legally stops men from using make up. Lets not go fishing for grevinises when we have so many legit ones already.

It should be noted that up until the 1950's women only wore makeup in the evening, that was the rule. It changed when women entered the work force. The women were competing for the attention of the males in the office. Most makeup is overdone especially the eyes. Tone it down girls!

No, they are in competition with other women to attract other men (or women in the case of lesbians).

Man can also do plenty to increase their attractiveness, though perhaps not as easy as putting on makeup.

Depends on whether you like painted faces or not. Personally I've never been attracted to women who wear make up. A tiny bit, maybe, a lot - no. Always take a woman for a swim in the sea. If she still looks good upon emerging from the ocean, then it's because she looked good to begin with.

I don't think it does. Yes, they have to put in extra effort to be attractive, because they are in competition with each other.

Notably, they are not in competition with men for attractiveness; rather, we are the prize that they are trying to win.
