That's bullshit. Once you sign an Acknowledgement of Paternity you will, in all likelihood, find yourself on the hook for child support payments no matter what the outcome of the DNA test. Get the DNA test first.

Sir, the technical term for this is "Bullshit." Birth certificates are routinely issued without the name of one or both parents. She's is trying to get over on you and I suspect that if you were to sign the AOP, she'd skip her happy little ass right over to Family Court to start child support proceedings against you.

What sort of timeline is important here? I have been trying to distance myself from this situation. If this is my child it was fathered by me in the most deceitful fashion.

As to the AOP, because family law varies from state to state, I can't write with any certainty regarding your particular situation. The typical AOP consists of the child's name, the mother's (hoe's) name, a space for your name, current address, and SSN, and a space for the notary, or disinterested witnesses, if required.

An AOP is evidence against you in family court, regardless of what the paternity test says. You will be liable for child support (hoe support). You will have no rights to custody or visitation unless the mother (hoe) allows it, or you have the time and money to duke it out in court.

Put plainly, it is not in your interest to sign this thing unless and until your paternity is definitively established.

I've been in this situation, more or less.

Insist on the test and don't trust her as far as you can throw her. Dishonest women will fabricate a "back up" event that they can point to where less than stellar birth control was used, because they want you to simply accept that this event proves paternity.

My ex took herself off her birth control without my knowledge and absolutely insisted that we have sex without a condom one time, on our wedding night, and forever more that day became "the day" she'd refer to whenever she wanted to pressure me into some aspect of paternity.

Don't accept that you're the father. She might be pregnant from someone else and just constructed her little tete a tete with you to get a plausible scenario to lever. If the real father isn't going to be a reliable source of child support, this could easily be her route to getting it from you.

If she wants you to sign anything, demand a paternity test first. You know you had sex with her but you have no idea who else did too. She sounds adamant; maybe she is desperate enough to comply.
