Watching this situation unfold in the media, I originally thought Trump was wrong to call Bill Clinton a rapist, since he has never been on trial nor convicted of rape.
However, given Hillary's stance that we should 'believe all accusations until they are proven false', she is in a very bad position in regards to Broaddrick.
The reason is that, while Broaddrick doesn't appear to have enough evidence to push the claim to a criminal trial, there is also not enough evidence to prove it false.
By Trump 'playing the rape card', he is demonstrating how easy it has become to level accusations at someone and how hard it is, even for an attorney and former President of the US, to disprove them.
Also, Hillary actively worked to discredit Broaddrick, even though apparently the only evidence that she has is the belief in her husband, the accused.
This is evidence of how ridiculous the 'believe the victim' movement is, because when the chips are down, even the people in that camp pick and chose who they will believe.
I am hoping this opens discussion on 'listen and believe', and I hope there will be discussion of why we should use 'listen and verify' as the method for handling rape allegations.
How do you all feel about this? Will this open a national discussion, or is it just a passing media shitstorm?
