Had a bird's eye view of the operations and multiple facilities of a major BC city recently. I was amazed at all the pretty ladies around me. In fact every department I entered there were way more women than men, some departments I saw only women.

Anyways I had to look up the numbers, and I wasn't shocked. Take a look at the website and see the numbers for yourself. The numbers don't surprise me, considering how men's issues tend to get dismissed in our culture. BC public service hiring policies have the unintended consequences of basically promoting misandry via their hiring practices which were initially aimed at promoting "equality".

Anyways what pisses me off is the fact that every city hall worker I have ever met basically laughs at the fact that it is a joke work environment, big union government money, good benefits, and make work projects designed to essentially be mediocre. I.E. don't rock the boat. My friends with city jobs laugh as well as lament at the fact that it is such easy work

Feminist equality means women are equal or greater than men.

The goal of employment equity is a discrimination-free workplace where current and prospective employees receive equitable treatment in hiring, training and promotion.

Because discrimination against men doesn't count.

I could write an action opportunity. It's right there in the employment equity act that hiring in general should be made on qualifications, and the BC publications cited show more hiring for women as "progress".

How about someone else fill in the details this time?

You'll see similar stats in the Federal government and in other provinces too.

Every time I've taken a federal contract I was surrounded by women, and most of the leadership was female. And there are no signs of stopping the discriminatory hiring practices.
