Reckless driving Vs Drunk Driving. Drunk Driving is usually punished more severely.

2 deaths vs 4 deaths.

The differences are there, but for there to be no jail for the woman is still mind boggling.

Both horrible stories, I cannot imagine how hard it must be to lose a child, and in that fashion.

The dude's sentence and the judge's tone seems overly harsh and the woman's overly sympathetic, but the drunk driving element does absolutely make a difference to the sentence.
