Since theses are the same people who believe in "Rape Culture", "Gender wage gap", and the discredited "One in five/four" myth". I would not be surprised.

I am curious as to how they did the study. I have used ebay before. Every single time I ever bought anything from anyone on ebay. The seller has always had a non-gendered screen name. So I don't have any clue as to the gender/race/sexuality/anything personal on the seller. Secondly, the seller is free to set the prices to anything they want. This comes with the drawback, that if you place the minimum bid too high, then no one is going to place any bids, but if you put the minimum bid too low, you won't make any money.

How the fuck do you even connote gender on ebay? I assume most users to be male unless they have an ovetly female username. And Id be more likely to trust a female, to be honest.

Honestly, it all sounds pretty retarded to me but without their raw data it's pretty hard to refute (not because the argument is compelling, just that it's not strictly disprovable), at least I couldn't see anything obvious from my brief non-committal glance over it.

It flies directly in the face of all ebay interactions I have ever observed though. I've never seen or heard anyone even looking at the persons uesrname, just feedback and price. The idea that someone would INTENTIONALLY play 20% more for something on eBay just because the seller is a man instead of a woman seems fucking ridiculous to me. People will spend hours trawling for that one place where they can get it 5c cheaper, either that or they just buy now the first not insane result they get.

So the gender is not obvious unless you do research on the seller. Are they trying to suggest people research the gender of the seller and pay more if they find it is a man? This to me seems like further evidence that the pay gap is derived from different reasons than feminists suspect.
