Great news! Apparently Australian men are not subject to gender discrimination

It's nice (in theory) to take the gender debate outside of reddit mensrights, but most times it seems to end badly. Just tried discussing this in Reddit Australia, but oh well, I guess I achieved a broader audience for several minutes anyway.

What I said in my accompanying post before it was down-voted to oblivion was:

The linked article in the Sydney Morning Herald does not mention men once. Given that, and given the nature of the work undertaken by the former Commissioner, Elizabeth Broderick, it is clear that men and boys are thankfully free of the burden of harassment and discrimination faced by womenfolk.

That being the case it is only proper that the Australian Human Rights Commission's sole focus on the welfare of women and girls is set to be continued under the newly installed Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Kate Jenkins. Likewise Kate's appointment continues the Commission's practice of only appointing women to this role.

A formal announcement of the re-labelling of the Commission to the 'Australian Women's Rights Commission', clearly the logical next step, appears imminent.
