You know that them doing the act isn't the problem right?

the boy was sexually assaulted for over two months by the woman, who had forced him into a physical relationship.

You see the difference now?

Maybe she's a PEDOPHILE?

Maybe she's a PEDOPHILE Ephebophile?

ftfy

Wow! TIL. I too thought it was pedophile for teens as well.

I'd like to thank Dateline for teaching me that term.

Damn.... nice argument.

Right around 2 years ago, the government in India changed the age of consent to 16. Source. He was not legally too young, as least according to all the laws (and changes to) that I found online.

Note that this does not absolve the woman of guilt for sexual harassment.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Legal age of consent is bullshit anyways, if it was the true and moral thing, how come it is different in every country?

As Dave Chapelle once asked, "How old is fifteen, really?"

I think a 16 year old girl is old enough to make these kinds of decisions. And in this case, I think a 16 year old guy is, too. Just because the gender roles are switched, it doesn't mean prosecuting this isn't just as silly as it is with a man.

This kid clearly freaked out when his parents realized he was boning an older woman, and accused her of "forcing" him to do it. Wut? For two months you go to her house to have sex with her? How did she coerce him? Keep him tied up in the basement? Physically drag him there? I'm sorry...find it hard to take her supposed verbal "threats" seriously as the method for "forcing" the guy to have sex with her.

Can confirm, I am 17 and completely retarded and can't make my own decisions. I would probably jump off a cliff if you told me to.

[–]southseattle77 -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I meant it matter-of-factly, not offensively. You don't have a fully developed brain and are less likely to fully understand the ramifications of the decisions you make right now. Check it out...

So should sex with 19 year olds be statutory rape, as well?

[–]Sodiepawp 9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Depends, are people more mature by 19 than 15 or are you just trying to say the cutoff should around the word "teen." If so, are you advocating for sex with 13 year olds? They're teens too.

At 19, you're legal to drink in many places, own a gun, enlist in the military, etc. By then, yes, it's assumed you're adult enough to make these decisions. 15 isn't 19.

[–]southseattle77 -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Nope. 19 year old brains are more fully developed. Not quite as much as they should be. Some are better developed at that age, some aren't.

The more years you have over someone, the more able you may be to manipulate them. Which is why we get suspicious around couples with large age gaps.

Which is why we get suspicious around couples with large age gaps.

No 'we' don't. As long as they're both adults making each other happy, 'we're not all judgmental assholes.

[–]Gypsin 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It may seem judgemental to you but if you think about it, if one person in any relationship has all the money, the car, the house and significantly higher confidence the other person in the relationship is going to have a VERY hard time getting away if things go sour. Especially if they move in together. :/

Of course if there's a large age gap and both parties are financially established enough to leave and mentally mature enough to realize when something's wrong more power to them.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

To be fair, they let most female victim cases slide. Kind of the inverse of the western world.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What bullshit. I hope you aren't getting your world view from /r/worldnews.

[–]shrekter 10 points11 points12 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Oh India. You have such an adorable fascination with rape.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Has anyone compared Indias rape stats with the USA based on Populations

[–]shrekter 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not sure. That sounds like it'd be an interesting series of numbers to look at.

[–]blinKX10 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

According to Wikipedia the US has ~32 rapes / 100,000 people and India has ~1.5

Scroll down to Rape statistics by country

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_statistics

Keep in mind these are only reported rapes, so in a country like India, it could in reality be much higher.

If the "victim" masturbates to the memory of it, it's not a crime.

How does a middle aged woman sexually "assault" a teenage boy? Most boys that age are hormone factories, and given the chance will hump anything, willingly. I'm willing to bet the boy didn't complain about it, but boasted about it to the wrong people. :')

I guess for one brief moment in history there was one kid that DIDNT lie on Xbox live when he proclaimed "Im banging your mom".

[–]srtor 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

fuck off SOB. A sexual intercourse with underage boy is totally a rape also she should be booked for pedophilia.

[–]Sokonomi -4 points-3 points-2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Rape is what its called when it is non consensual, you fucking clown. And a 16 year old is no adult, but its hardly a child either.
