Investigators said Reed admitted to smoking marijuana before Sadie's parents dropped the toddler off Reed's home.

Wow. So due to negligence she caused the death of someone's child and admitted that she was under the influence of marijuana. The state didn't take her child way, and then her child dies under similar circumstances. And then she gets 2 1/2 months in jail.

This belongs on WTF as much as it does PussyPass.

But your honor! This is only the second baby that died due her her negligence!

I don't know the specifics of the case, but that doesn't sound like a very good defense. Somehow it worked, though.

Well, the thing to do is get a bunch of stunt babies and set up a sting operation. Get maybe ten or twelve babies that can swim and can hold their breath for a long time, and leave them stacked up by the pool or something. A real baby-drowner couldn't resist a big juicy pile of babies like that that are just asking to be chucked into the drink. IF she goes for it, and only IF, then you've got a baby-drowner, and then it's time to set up some kind of fine for her or something.

The last line kills me. Yes the only reason the justice system is pursuing is because of a prior charge, not the fact a toddler fucking died under your supervision
