Wow the world really is black and white to you.

Fascism is an ideology from the right of the political spectrum but I don't think all conservatives are fascists. I'm also aware that there are large numbers of conservatives that are unhappy with some of the ideologies being espoused by their own party at the moment, You're making a mistake drawing left right distinctions. this is primarily a rationalist, libertarian vs post-modern, authoritarian fight.

The SPLC may pay lip service to being left wing, but they are primarily in the business of making money, they'll do and say whatever they need to in order to keep the donations and funding rolling in.

Personally I think politics should be left out of the MRM as much as possible, otherwise the dogmatists are going to run it into the ground.

Often misattributed to Voltaire, Benjamin Franklin, Winston Churchill, and the other usual suspects, but actually a paraphrasing of Francois Guisot, loosely translated: "Not to be a republican at twenty is proof of want of heart; to be one at thirty is proof of want of head."

(At the time, however, republicanism in France was interchangeable with several liberal ideals, and had nothing to do with modern republicanism, particularly that of the US.)

Edit: Well, if we're going for snippy soundbites, "I voted for Nader" as liberal cred just begs for an old joke I heard back in the day.

Two men in an asylum are arguing over which of them is the crazier. The first says with pride, "I voted for Nader, so I must be the crazier." The second retorts, "I voted for him both times, so I mut be the crazier." The first thinks for a moment, then replies "Only twice? Hell, I voted for him three times."
