The object of this post is to find a good UK or EU lawyer whom is willing to take on a custody case.
I split from my ex just under a year ago. She left whilst I was at work, taking my daughter to live with her grandparents. At the time, I assumed that she had left because I was devoting a lot of my time to becoming a skilled programmer, with a view to gravitating into sysadmin work (I was starting with nothing, so cisco qualifications were out of my remit). It has gradually appeared that she left me merely because she found someone whom she was more attracted to than me.
Regardless of the fact that this was a shitty thing to do, I don't hold that alone against her. Rather, I hold the fact that she has continually made it very difficult for me to have contact with my daughter. In actual fact, I think it is immoral for one to leave a household and take the children from a stable home, but I remiss to the laws of state that side to the mother.
I really want to have equal distributed contact with my daughter. That means, of 21 weeks of every year, I want my daughter to be with me. This should be evenly distributed throughout each year, meaning that once every two year-ends, I spend my Christmas with my daughter - and vice-versa with her mother.
At the moment, I'm having great difficulty setting up home. I really want my daughter to have her own room at my flat, in a clean and prepared property. I don't really have the option of family due to a lot of issues relating to family (which are more than I wish to go into here), meaning that its down to me to make a comfortable atmosphere for my daughter. I think that the likes of child benefit/tax credits should be split evenly between me and my daughters mother.
Please note that the above paragraph is not a cry for financial aid. I have a good job, and I am paying both mine and my daughter's mothers debts off where our creditors are willing.
I'd also like to set up bi-yearly consultations with a psychologist for my daughter, at least until the possibility of aspergers and other social issues have been ruled out - I only mention this because I waited until I was twenty to have this diagnosed, and I refuse to allow my daughter to suffer the isolation that I did.
I want this to continue up until the point where my daughter can decide for herself where she wants the majority of her time to be spent - emphasis on her choice.
I suppose what I am really asking is:- is what I'm asking achievable within UK law?
Thanks if you read this far, this has been eating me up for a while.
