The gist of the story is in these two posts. The response of Futrelle and his commenters to both Jack and the first post, show that the group considers themselves exempt from the standard they apply to everyone else, and they honestly believe playing victim after Futrelle's repeated demonization of MRAs has led to doxing and threats will establish some distance between his actions and their result.

#IStandByJack update 2: Futrelle's Magic Fainting Couch Ride

At first glance this may just look like a social media slap fight, but two things make it significant.

First, the dox brought Jack's family into the equation, and in particular, his child.

Second, Futrelle just showed us the lengths that political opposition to the MRM will go to in order to justify exercising a double standard on what they consider to be attacks. Were the target of the dox in question a feminist, especially a feminist woman, instead of one of us, feminists would label the incident "cyberviolence," blame all MRAs or possibly even all men, and use the incident as fodder for fundraising.

Because the target is an MRA and his family, suddenly the dox is no big deal, the father of the victim has no justification for being upset enough to respond without the most diplomatic level of tact, the doxer must be presumed a 3rd party troll, and the person in whose name the dox was posted and whose work clearly spurred the doxer's fury dindu nuffin, man! Any condemnation of the behavior can be heavily laced with "he wuz askin' for it!" rhetoric and yet not be considered victim blaming.

Third, we now know that even when it is the most ridiculous possible approach, feminists will use DARVO attacks and therefore assumed victim status as a get out of criticism free card when confronted with their abuse of political opponents.
...which makes the first issue even worse, because it establishes two more things:

At least some feminist writers feel comfortable targeting MRAs in this manner using their readers as proxies, knowing their stooges won't be outraged at the exploitation or hold them to the standards to which they hold us, and...
Our families are now considered fair game by these people, who have a list of ready excuses for inciting people to target them, and then distancing themselves from the result.
