This is such an atrocious crime. Things like this make me question my stance against death penalty. He is a really brave man and his wife is such and amazing woman.

We need more details. It absolutely sounds like it is possible that she falsely claimed assault to give her an alibi. If that is the case she should be charged as a an accessory to the attack.
