Wait. What? Is there some separate type of charge/sentantce if a man does it? Does the balance of his mind matter? I would argue that most people that kill anyone, especially children, aren't right in the head. And five years?!

If they're arguing that she was mentally ill and can be rehabilitated so will no longer be a danger, I don't see how one year of probation is going to do that. If that's the case, she needs to be institutionalized somewhere until people are damned sure. Heck, she could go through another entire pregnancy and have another baby vulnerable to her before her sentence is served.

LOL you just gotta laugh at the lengths the courts go to pathologize female criminality. Maybe they should just create a "I dun do bad thing" disorder that turns any crime committed by a female into evidence of a mental "illness".
