We've all seen this video before and it is sad. However, I would not go so far to say its "proof that society is misandric".

While no one comes to the defence of the man, no one cheers the woman on either (with the possible exception of the two black guys who seem to think it's pretty funny). For the most part people are uncomfortable, and a little surprised.

The difference is that people are socially conditioned to defend women who are incapable of defending themselves. And they are socially conditioned to expect men capable of defending themselves. So this issue isn't that the people "hate" the man, or think he is of lesser value. Rather, they expect the man is able to deal with the problem without their intervention.

The mentality does need to change, but it doesn't stem from a hatred of men. On the contrary, it stems from a belief in inherent male strength and self-reliance.

We all know that the man could stop that domestic abuse pretty quick if he had to. While people should step in and intervene on this it's not really the same thing. If you get beat up by a chick and you can't defend yourself you need to go to the gym and eat a couple of steaks.
