Well, actually that's not true because of such and such, women did X.

Well, but you have to agree that men had far more rights than women.

What's with the blanket statements and it being brushed off when they're called out as untruthful.

Being interviewed by someone who disagrees with you puts you at a disadvantage. An interview is a not a debate, as the interviewer get to both frame and lead the discussion. In lieu of media training, hours of preparation listening to previous interviews by the interviewer are really needed; paying special attention to their tricks of framing, biases and their preferred trick questions and responses.

The key to any interview is preparation, preparation and preparation. Also don't believe a word they say to before the interview.

Cenk seemed to agree with the modern MRM movement. When they were going over the mattress girl story, Cenk was the one calling her out on her bullshit (that's from another video). His views are often watered down (because he doesn't want to alienate himself from his liberal-oriented show), but the core ideas are there.

However, he got annoyed when Karen wouldn't concede that the feminist movement did lots of good in the past. Karen argued (poorly, as she didn't quite get her points across, and because she seemed to be talking about UK feminist history while Cenk was talking about U.S. feminist history) that the feminist movement was actually detrimental to getting women the right to vote.

Frankly, I don't believe that. I'm all for what the MRM movement stands for, but obviously the feminist movement helped women get the right to vote.

She did, however, mention that women never actually paid the price for suffrage. They still aren't required to register for the draft, which is practically universally recognized as the corollary for the right to vote in the U.S. (which was a really cool insight imo).
