They know the evidence that disproves it. They don't care. All they care about is votes and money, and perpetuating this myth gets them both.

It utterly infuriates me to see how they remain so persistent with their exploitation of this narrative. It has become nothing more than a very safe way to shore up votes (typical divide and rule). We all know the evidence against the pay gap, however what's particularly galling is that it's a Conservative PM pushing this (it's no surprise, but it's still galling).

The UK may be one of the most neo-liberal economies in the world, however culturally it has shifted so far left, and adopted so much of the feminist narrative in its desire to divide the country up along the lines of identity politics, that it's beyond parody.

It's not about the evidence they need, it's about the votes they need. It is a matter of securing their own well paid jobs. If they cater towards the male they will lose the female vote. If they cater towards the female they won't lose any significant male votes.
