The user base of Facebook skews heavily towards women. It's not surprising or offensive that they would want a logo that appeals more to their user base.

At least that's what I thought, but then I read this by the designer of the new logo.

'As a woman, educated at a women’s college, it was hard not to read into the symbolism of the current icon, the woman was quite literally in the shadow of the man, she was not in a position to lean in,' Ms Winner added.

It's infuriating. The "slight" to women in the first logo design was obviously unintentional, but this one towards men is not.

It had never occurred to me u till today, that the icon was a male in front of a female. I had just assumed it was two genderless people joining in friendship. It really mattered that much to women? Though it has been changed, it doesn't bother me. Who cares? I don't even use loserbook anymore.
