I really don't want this to get buried, because I'm new to this subreddit and this was a very interesting topic. I also want to learn more about men's rights, because it's important to me.

So, is "Moderate Feminism" considered a political movement, or is it just a way of thinking? I think it's the first one, right?

I totally agree with the people that say Radical Feminism is getting out of hand. I've learned a lot about men being cast aside when it comes to rights, especially when it concerns abuse. I've learned about stories where women get away with abusing men, and female teachers get away with abusing male children. And those stories always end in the victim being accused of lying, or some other BS about them being in the wrong themselves.

I have my own personal experience with female pedophilia. It made me really uncomfortable and nervous with I wanted to talk about these experiences with a few friends who were discussing their disgust of rape, but only mentioned men as the rapists and pedophiles the entire time.

So, I have my own personal anger towards this aspect of Radical Feminism. I hate that it actively discounts men as victims of female abuse, and sometimes of abuse in general, just because they're a man.

All that said, I want to talk about a specific instance that was important to me. One of my best friends, who identified with Feminism, and I had a long discussion about Women's Rights. While she actively stood for the rights of women, she told me I brought up a lot of great perspectives about men's rights too. She honestly hadn't thought about it, and we both agreed that was seriously very scary. I mean, just to think that it doesn't come naturally to the average or Feministic person to think of men in abusive situations, is terrifying.

My friend and I talked about what all these rights should be about. She told me that she wants to believe in equal rights for both sexes, and how she agrees that both should be free of this bullshit.

So, I want to ask if this is considered Moderate Feminism. I identify with these beliefs, but I also notice that I tend to lean towards men being given the equal rights that Radical Feminism actively denies. My friend, on the other hand, kind of leans towards getting rid of abuse against women, and wanting them to have equal rights. But we both think that both sexes suffer from different kinds of abuse and denial of rights.

Ever since I met her, I've become a lot more interested in supporting Men's Rights, while also looking into the values of Feminism. I'm seventeen now, and I really don't know how to move forward with this. Or anything really, regarding helping in political movements and trying to advocate.

I guess then I'm saying I want to learn more about all these topics in /r/MensRights so I can discuss them and thus learn even more. So do any of you have suggestions where to start with this stuff? Like I said, this is important to me, but I'm kinda new to it all and so I guess I need guidance. :/
