So matter of factly. Why is it so hard to understand that people make-up stories to f*ck other people over? If calling rape a huge issue doesn't mean calling all men rapists, calling false-accusations an issue doesn't mean calling all women false-accusers either. So many women don't seem to understand that just because they wouldn't do something, doesn't mean someone else wouldn't be willing to. Damn it, I know I would never rape someone, but it's obvious there are men willing to rape people - people need to accept that women are capable of malice too.

While a victim-focussed approach which recognises that men and boys are victims of rape too is laudable, taking a soft approach on women who make false allegations of rape sends a very strong message that the law takes a softer line on female perpetrators and a harder line on male victims.

Making a false allegation is not jut a crime against the police, it is also a crime against men and boys who are uniquely vulnerable to the impact of false allegations, which in extreme cases can lead to suicide and murder.

How about being tough on rape and tough of false allegations of rape?

This story exposes a lot about the culture that has developed in the CP and police in this area, and the UK in general. Clearly promotion is dependent on being inline with the ideological dogma. A policy of fixed-penalty fines for false rape accusations is obscene. The fact they feel they can talk openly in this manner is a testament to how bad things have become.

As a criminal lawyer I did rape cases.

Many of the complainants were telling the the truth about the fact of the main incident (there are usually several incidents) - i.e. that there was a rape - , but I can't remember one case where a complainant told the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Sometimes details of the incident and surrounding events were fabricated. Equally often, other alleged incidents of rape were fabricated to prejudice the accused.

ITT: morons who don't understand the difference between Manchester police force and the entire uk. (Scotland has its own entire set of separate laws)

also false allegations are not a criminal offence they rightly point out that they charge for wasting police time etc (which is an offense) and the nothing stops you pursuing a civil suite, since its under a civil lawsuit not criminal.

FYI pretending to be a murderer and claiming you killed someone is the same offence etc.
