My ex, who is currently receiving 511 dollars per month from me, has not worked since before my 4.5 year old was born. She just quit working and has never gone back. She gets "low income" grants and food assistance.

I have two overnight visits a week, though increasingly she will leave my daughter with me for days at a time. Sometimes a week or more. I'm often in financial trouble because of the large portion of my income going to my child's mother and I often run into issues with having enough food for myself or embarrassingly not be able to afford toys or outings with the little one.

Meanwhile, despite lack of employment, my ex, ex's mother, my daughter, and my ex's sister all live in a house that my ex's father bought for her flat out, enabling this behavior.

I just need to vent. This is god awful and a father cannot and should not be forced to live this way. It's sexism, pure and simple, and it's egregious and disgusting how lopsided this system is to good fathers who just want to be with their kids.
