On this I cannot agree with Milo. We need to vote in support of candidates and parties who support men. I'm sure you can find one of those in Britain.

Your vote is one of the most valuable commodity in the political landscape. Please do not waste it.

Still waiting for the great pumpkin Linus?

[–]nick012000 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Vote for UKIP or BNP, if nothing else.

[–]Wargame4life 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Oh dear, Im usually a huge fan of Milo and absolutely stand behind everything he has claimed on TV etc, but this just reeks of apathy and whining.

deciding not to vote because you think men have it hard wrt to running costs is just absolutely insane, you cant influence society if you remove yourself from it. and the examples he chooses are pretty weak.

men CHOOSE to buy flashy cars there is no policy or mandatory system that requires them to, if men collectively play the flashy car game that's their choice, if you don't wish to that's your choice.

im pretty disappointed in MILO on this, he is usually pretty spot on and with significant points but this seems like petty whining.

its almost smacks of the feminist victim complex, "oh woe is me tampax is so expensive"

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

You're right in that it's an uncharacteristically poor article, but like Milo I won't be voting tomorrow. Every party available to me panders to the feminist lobby and I cannot in good conscience vote for any of them.

[–]Eryemil 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The electorate already skews female, and you're contributing to that.

There is only one thing pols care about: reelection. If you don't vote, they have no reason to pay attention to you, your needs or your views.

[–]Wargame4life -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I'm in the same position as you, but not voting is not the answer, the parties are not all equal, even if it was a choice between Hitler and Stalin voting matters.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Well, the issue with our political system is that in practical terms I would only be choosing between two parties I really don't want to vote for anyway, as only Labour and the SNP have any chance. I refuse to back either.

[–]Wargame4life -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

then vote for an independant or even spoiling the ballot paper is better than not voting.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Other than the mainstream I have just the Socialist Party candidate, and I certainly won't vote for them. I don't see what good spoiling a paper will do, and it'd just waste 30 mins of my time.

I appreciate that a lot of people think the right to vote is something sacred, but frankly, I don't see it that way. Yes, I'm disenfranchising myself, but I am making a conscious choice.

Yeah, except the EU made it illegal to charge men more (whether it makes sense or not). Selectively enforcing laws based on who benefits, is a bit retarded.

I thought the article was just fine.

[–]emperorhirohito 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's fine to have problems with the system, with individuals within it and it's policies. Not voting won't solve any of that. This is moronic

[–]rg57 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Pretty sure it's a "poll" tax, not a tax on poles or Poles.

[–]wntk 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think it may be a pun and be referring to the "pole" between a man's legs.

[–]autotldr 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 89%. (I'm a bot)

The idea of men being structurally disadvantaged will sound odd to anyone over 30 as I explained in a two-part report last year, younger men are increasingly checking out of society and retreating into porn and video games because they find the world a hostile, gynocentric place.

Not only do women under 30 get paid more than men for the same work in the UK and US, and not only are women disproportionately favoured even in jobs that are better suited to male aptitudes, but even in my parent's generation, the studies simply don't hold water.

Prostate cancer kills more men than breast cancer does women, yet receives a sliver of the funding.

Not reading because of that crazy ad that popped up that I can't seem to close.

[–]tallwheel -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It costs more to eat healthily, if you’re a man. According to USDA statistics, among men aged 18-50, there’s aboout a $10 a month premium if you’re a man and you want to get your recommended nutritional needs.

This is pretty much the equivalent of women complaining that they have to pay for feminine hygiene products, birth control, or that they generally have to pay more for shoes, clothes, and haircuts.

[–]tallwheel 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

LOL. I can't believe someone downvoted this.

This is some silly shit that Milo wrote above, and it makes MRA's look really bad.
