someone failed evolution 101, to think the Y chromosome is somehow a faulty concept that will lead to extinction is simply ridiculous.

XX and XY exists purely as a result of its survival strength and sexual dimorphism for the species, if it didn't it would favour XX.

the actual reality is that XY allows greater variety and likelihood of adaptation and so over time men become more capable as they live a life a more disposable high competition role

Bingo. Mother nature was too smart to waste reproductive potential on environment testing.

Males go out and test the environment, the survivors come back with a 1:17 to 1:2 breeding rate (1 female for every X number of males), and the genetics shift towards what is optimal for the environment. This shift happens faster than if nature had women be the variable ones and also protects the reproductive potential from being out of bounds from the environment.

absolutely, it makes survival sense for men to be the risk takers and loss takers since they (evolution wise) are more disposable.

this effect over time leads to men advancing and adapting at a greater rate due to being in a higher competition environment than women, and since mutation on Y can only be shared by men, ad X can be shared by both men and women, its inevitable men would be the more capable and higher performing over time.

its evolutionary inevitable

The stat in the article has been debunked and either complete nonsense or at best a massive exaggeration. At the current rate of change men would be extinct in many billions of years.

I've submitted a complaint to the author and encourage others to do the same.

It's in billions and billions of years, not 5,000,000. By which time we'll have probably all gone extinct from something else, or we'll have had to have really gotten our shit together as a species and we'll probably be tinkering with our biology to prevent these kinds of problems arising, or we'll be robots, or some crazy shit. Even failing all that, if it happens, it happens, so fuck it.

We'll be a sentient gas by then and spreading like a fart throughout the universe. Man's greatness can't be properly expressed in its current vessel.

I'm partial to the grey goo virtual reality scenario. Upload the brains, begin von neumanning the universe into a giant computer network with a flying space-horde of computers that convert matter into more brain-housing, more energy capture thingies, and more von neumanns. NANOMACHINES SON! / Your universe sucks, we're using it to build a better one. With blackjack, and hookers.

Come to think of it, that does sound suspiciously like the fart you describe. But an exponential fart. A fart that turns anything it touches into more fart. Sci-Fi is weird. There's lots of ways this kind of thing could be avoided by then. We havn't even had a society around for a hundred thousand years yet.

Speculatory nonsense.

On behalf of the British tax payer.

When will men become extinct? Which times table sums do children find most difficult? What are the most common computer passwords?

Gotta love the casualness. I'm glad that the extinction of half the human population is up there with computer passwords.

I despise the BBC and all it stands for.

Lazy, misandrist, feminist bollocks. Scrap it now and be done with.

Scrap it, and save yourselves the mandatory TV tax.

If only!

Sadly many in the UK love the BBC and still trust it.
