There was another article I saw posted on another site maybe a year or so ago that showed that a higher proportion of female applicants got hired than male applicants for jobs in technology. It's not a problem of women not being allowed in the tech and science world, it's a problem of them choosing not to go that route.

If the solution to bias is to create scholarships and programs to promote the group biased against, we should create programs to promote men in STEM fields and give men scholarships to make up for this bias.

If that's not the solution, should we then remove such programs?

It might also give pause to those who think male economists are rational.

Am I missing something here? The male economist demographic were the closest to being genderblind.

"male economists are not so rational after all". That's because they evaluate equal candidates regardless of their gender, by the way.

I don't know what happened to the Economist these days, but they seem to be incapable of writing an article without a snarky remark on men.

I am very interested in science and technological advancement. It angers me that we possibly stunt the growth of knowledge because of petty political agendas. In science, the best people should be supported, not the ones with correct genitals, skin color, sexual orientation or whatever.
