These people have obvious double standards. Their process of rationalising them is plainly visible.

No one said they had to fuck all incels so they don't shoot them. Just treat them like humans instead of demonizing them in the myriad of ways that modern first world women do.

Can you explain in simpler terms

[–]DeputyDak 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

1) Mass shooting occured in Plymouth

2) They look through his internet history and find out that he's active in incel-type subreddits.

3) Some bozo in the same town makes a Twitter post about how '' all women in Plymouth are collectively responsible for this ''.

4) Feminists react to that and say that its not all women's responsibility to make sure every guy gets shagged so that he doesn't turn into a killer.

This post was about pointing out the hypocrisy in their thinking because they also keep telling men to police other men about how they treat women, etc.

Thanks

If men gotta hold other men accountable for their actions then women gotta hold other women accountable for their actions.

either be fair about the logic and have it go both ways or you leave it at the doorstep and go back home, no changes whatsoever

[–]thatspositive 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Huh?

Are you saying the phrase "all men should hold each other accountable" would include fucking a mentally ill person to avoid the possibility of them becoming a mass shooter?

[–]DeputyDak 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The post was a response to someone who had said that '' women are collectively responsible '' for problems like this. Obviously which is messed up because you shouldn't hold an entire group accountable.

But these are the same folks who get angry every time a guy says '' Not all men '' and they keep telling ALL MEN that they need to step up and keep other men in line. I.e. they should do their part in helping women.

Isn't that line of thinking exactly what was described above? They're pretty much putting the onus on all men, and saying its up to them to be proactive at all times to their needs.

Ah I see, well that makes much more sense.

Hmmm interesting question actually.

I'm assuming this is talking about incel type killers? If it is, then what was the original commenter implying? Were they implying that it could've been avoided If women as a demographic just fucked more incels?

If so I'm sure you and I would both agree that's ridiculous.

But is that hypocritical to say that's ridiculous and that at the same time men should hold each other accountable for sexual assault/misogyny?

I tend to think it isn't. Mainly because do we really think that incel killers could be avoided if someone just haf sex with them? That seems very optomistic, and obviously ridiculous to say that women should have sex with someone just because they're scared they might go on a rampage

But could misogyny/sexual assault be reduced if men were more mindful of the actions of themselves and others? Yes I'd say it could

It's possible but the deeper hypocrisy is where men are told to monitor and police the actions of other men, women however are not told, in fact it's actually seen as shaming for one woman to monitor or police the actions of another woman.

Nobody is saying women should sleep with men to stop them rampaging, some men will do that regardless, like saying ban all guns and then getting surprised when stabbings go up.

Now nobody is saying women do go rampaging through populated areas with guns that's far from what anybody is saying but it's highly suspect to say police this group but we refuse to police our own as that's shaming and that's not acceptable.

It's also highly hypocritical to say women are not a monolith and do not all think alike but at the same time to say all men think alike so all men need to watch all other men.

Obviously that was not directly stated but the implications are there nonetheless. Here's the bigger issue though, if men were to monitor other men the next issue becomes that men are being cruel to other men by stunting their ability to be themselves, how should men police other men, does it suddenly become acceptable to demand of one man to attend gay conversation therapy because we don't like him being gay. Where does the line get drawn, what happens when a woman suddenly doesn't like how men police other men.

It just overall shows the short term thinking behind many women who aren't capable of thinking past emotions, the law of unintended consequence comes into play.
