My possibly unique perspective is that I dated 80 women last year and basically whether I wanted to or not poled them on their perspectives on feminism and relationships.

First this isn’t a rant. This is more of a manifesto, . Here’s what I’ve learned.

Women want me to live up to a hyper sort of gender role. They want you to open doors, make them laugh, pay for everything, give them attention and gifts and you better look damn good, basically make them feel special.

The thing is, they have no desire to make you feel special in any way. Well, there’s one thing they all had in common, “You look great! I was so worried you wouldn’t be in shape!” Followed by sometime later in the evening with, “You’re going to get lucky tonight!” Their mere presence and the fact they will have sex with you, seems to be their only contribution to the relationship. It’s odd, they do this strange, I’m here, entertain me, and make me feel special act.

What has feminism taught them? It’s taught them that they are special and should be treated that way and that men are not special and don’t deserve to feel special. I never felt special to any of the women I saw. Frankly, sex isn’t special any more. What’s special about being one of dozens of men? Nothing.

So what’s so great about this new relationship model where men are expected to live out their gender role and women aren’t expected to live out any portion of their old gender role? Feel free to tell me. I really want to know.
