Yes, I've wondered about this. If the rape danger is so high for women at mixed sex universities, why aren't more going to women-only colleges, where the danger is (presumably) lower? One possibility is that the rape danger is just bullshit concocted for personal leverage; and this article gives another:

Horses don't compare to men. There is a certain pleasure in riding a horse, but it still doesn't compare to the more direct pleasure of having a boyfriend.

ROFL. It's basically the same thing. The motivation is largely the same. Except one cannot enjoy rape hysteria on the horse campus.

Considering most colleges are at 60% female enrollment, they might as well call all colleges "women's college."

I would love to see more male-only colleges - a place where males are not constantly under threat of false accusations, where they can speak openly without fear of offending some feminist or princess.

Hearing that colleges are closing in general makes me sad. Unless it would be the University of Phoenix.

That is actually sad. I like the fact that women can have a choice to attend an all women's college. Female bonding is as important as male bonding. It is a shame that women's colleges have not found a way to remain open.
